Elevate your Student Voice.  Lead the Future of Storytelling.

The STN Student Leadership Council (SLC) is a national team of passionate student storytellers dedicated to representing the student voice within STN. The SLC works to strengthen the STN community by fostering collaboration, creativity, leadership, and innovation among student members.

As a member of the SLC, students have the opportunity to help shape the future of STN, serve as ambassadors for their region, and collaborate with peers who share a passion for film, broadcast, journalism, and storytelling.

What Does the SLC Do?

Student Leadership Council members play an active role in representing and supporting the STN community through:

  • Serving as STN Ambassadors by representing STN both online and in person

  • Representing Their Region by sharing student ideas, feedback, and perspectives

  • Collaborating with Fellow Council Members on national initiatives and projects

  • Participating in Monthly Virtual Meetings and ongoing council activities

  • Supporting and Uplifting Others by helping to create an inclusive, welcoming environment

  • Helping Shape Student Experiences within STN events, programming, and engagement opportunities

Who Should Apply?

We’re looking for students who are:

  • Passionate about storytelling, media, and student leadership

  • Excited to collaborate with peers from across the country

  • Ready to represent the voices and experiences of students in their region

  • Dependable, communicative, and willing to contribute ideas

  • Interested in making a meaningful impact on the future of STN
