The Student Television Network will again be hosting the nation's largest scholastic broadcasting contest, the 2007-2008 STN Nationals. Every year, the Nationals contest presents an array of contests in which students can apply skills they have learned while studying the crafts of broadcast journalism and filmmaking. For the 2007-2008 school year, there are 17 high school categories and 5 middle school categories in which to submit an entry.

A wide range of contests include sports news and sports features, public service announcements, news shows and news features, promotions, commercials, documentaries, humorous videos, show openings, music videos, animations, and original short videos. Even morning announcement shows have a category. Schools must be affiliates of the Student Television Network to participate in this contest.
