About STN ContestsStudent Television Network hosts contests for student-produced programs several times throughout the school year. All contests follow strict guidelines for content, copyright and ethics. Submissions are judged by professionals in the industry and comments are returned to students for evaluation. STN adheres to professional guidelines for student produced work thus ensuring that students are equipped with real world knowledge during their education.

U.S. Education TV is offering $50,000 in prizes to STN schools that use their streaming service. Select the U.S. Education TV option when you sign up for STN membership and they will pay your membership fee and get you set up with a personal training session. U.S. Ed TV judging will begin February 15, 2012 so all schools that wish to be considered should have their U.S. Education TV website updated and complete with events, archives and advertising. Winners will be announced in March at the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 STN Convention in Dallas, TX. Winners do not need to be present at the convention to win. STN Student of the Year One high school senior from an STN affiliate school is selected as Student of the Year. The application process includes a review of work completed, written essays, a video portfolio and professional recommendations. The winner is awarded a $1,000 scholarship and a trip to the annual STN Convention where they will deliver a speech at the Opening Ceremony! Watch for entry information in 2012.

Dare to compete when the clock is ticking! Teams are given a prompt and only six days to complete their entry and upload it to STN Upload Site. The STN Film Festival screens submisisons in film (live action or animated), documentary and midddle school categories.
